Re: LN-NOB er paa sin jomfrutur

One can only wonder about some sour postings here...

DY did put out quiet some info about LN-NOB with the article online. Anne Grete Ellingsen as PR Princess did a great job. Some people here scream for more. Some other scream for punishment because of "Miljöfly" and don't differ between what is quoted from Mrs. Ellingsen and what is added by Journalists.

Some information will remain Company Inside Information. According to the board rules of this forum, they are not even allowed to be posted. And think a little about how a Leasing company would react to see that someone leaks out info on their (and it is their!!!) delivery slots before the hand-over is safe? I can't imagine that the people around Steven Udvar Hazy would be too happy to see those things show up.

If DY wanted the info on their Boeing Customer Code or any future Line-Numbers / MSN beeing published, Mrs. Ellingsen would have stated them in this interview or in a press release. Maybe some more info comes with the actual delivery press release and the PR things that are to happen then.

One more thing should be added as a fair side-note.
Some - not all - but some forum members did quiet a bit of BU and DY bashing here in this forum during the last months. That resulted in some people with Knowledge to go away. They were not stopped nor interfered. No one opposed the most stupid comments. Everyone has his attitude, ok, but do you here on this board really expect to get any inside info, which is of course a great priviledge, when you bash the same company as the chance arises? Just as a thing worth thinking about...

Spotterfriendly or not...
If you take a deep look into SAS Flightops you will notice that they are not in any way up to date. And they also don't display info about MSN, estimated first flights etc on their websites. What they do is they do display this for some old deliveries. Did they post any front up info on LN-RRA or LN-RRB? NO, not at all.

LN-NOB goes now into the paintshop and will be painted.
Whether someone from this forum or from the SEA gang takes the first shot, I personally do not care too much about. The pictures will show up.

Re: LN-NOB er paa sin jomfrutur

I don't know who this post is intended for, but I feel that this forum has a good balance of bashing shared between all airlines.

I think that our friend in Seattle is joking about DYs spotter friendliness. Hopefully, many of us will be able to take a picture of this new pig in Seattle in a couple of weeks :)

As a moderator on the worlds largest frequent flyer community, I know all about moderating and I agree that sometimes this forum can get a little over the top, but I do think the members here can take a joke and not take anything to seriously.

As for what happened a while back, I'm afraid I was prevented from following Scanair at that time, so I don't know the facts.

I do miss your posts, BU662, I'm quite sure we all feel the same way.

But there are some of the previous members I don't miss at all.

Re: LN-NOB er paa sin jomfrutur

I think it is intended for me....and I am half joking half serious....i am serious when I say DY is not spotter friendly, the information they keep "secrect" has nothing to do with business secrets. I do respect that DY does not want pictures of the new bird to distributed and that they want to control this, but that is not spotter friendly. SAS did provide information and did not object at all to Photos of LN-RRA and LN-RRB. I pointed out a difference and I also reacted to how my requests was treated by DY, and how they responded in comparison to SAS. I got DY's message - it was not nice.

DY is in no way commited to serve the questions of a minority group of people running around the fences looking to snap a shot or two of their upcoming aircrafts. I think it's funny how somebody could demand this of DY...even if they're serious or not.

In no way form or shape did I demand anything, I asked very politely, explained who we where ( a group of 16 Norwegians who have will meet in Seattle for this event) and got a real rude answer back. And to put it into perspective - Boeing provides the same group with 2 private tours on the floor in both Renton and Everett, Boeing even offered to pick us up downtown with one of their buses (not Airbus:p) Boeings Director of Marketing plans to meet with us - Agian I expected nothing more than a polite answer....I did not get that.

If DY published this in a press release, the journos wouldn't know what to do with it ... :p

Seriously - as soon as an approximate delivery date is announced, there is no secret anymore. A line number and customer code are hardly commercially sensitive information.

The only reason why SASFlightops isn't updated anymore is that Urban left SAS and that noone else at the department has the 'drive' or interest. Until he left, the site was updated as often as he had the time.
