Well, folks, got some bad news from Lufthansa today. They will not be able to provide us with the equipment needed for the charter.

I didn't think it was appropriate to run parallel negotiations with other airlines while working with Lufthansa, but we have a few quotes from independent charter operators for LH to compare with.

So today, I have spent my day on the phone calling some very good friends in the aviation industry and initially, it looks pretty good.

We have a couple of choices and I wanted your input right now on this:

1. We have an A332 available from a charter operator in Europe, but the config is very tight, 325 seats and only 18 premium seats. It's well within the price range we wanted and is ready to go.

2. I have started to explore other options as well, like other carriers and suppliers. There are some very interesting options out there and I can keep exploring, but this will take another two weeks

PS! Lufthansa will provide the same awesome program in Europe, the only difference is that we will be hopping through Europe on another carrier.

Please provide your feedback asap
 
Dette var da synd, men hoveddelen som TLS og FRA består jo. Så transport mellom disse stedene er vel nettopp det, transport.
Nå er det vel forholdsvis trangt i Corsair maskinen (i forhold til LH ihvertfall), men det er jo ikke flere timer flytid så tror nok alle vil overleve det ;)

For min del så går det bra med Corsair A332 (selv om jeg har mere lyst på LH A346 ;)). Men så var det det med de som har bestillt C-klasse, det blir jo færre C-klasse seter her i forhold til LH, så hvordan blir det med disse da? Var ikke C-klasse allerede overbooket da man regnet med at LH skulle operere charteren?

Uansett så tror jeg nok at du og Oliver finner en god løsning på dette, og all ære til dere 2 som har satt opp alt dette fra starten av :devot: :devot: :devot:

PS: Det skal en del til for at jeg ikke blir med på dette ;)
 
Nå begynner ting å dra seg til. Dessverre er det lite gehør for en ultratrang 330 fra våre amerikanske venner. Det er også kun 18 premiumseter ombord i den 330en, mens over 80 har sagt seg villig til å betale en premium og det får jo selvsagt ned kosten for alle de bak gardinen.

Alternativ 1 innebærer 2x A320 fra LH som vi har fått en ok pris på. (ca. 30% under SAS sitt 738 tilbud). Alternativ 2 er litt hysj hysj enda men det innebærer større metall fra en annen Star carrier

Den 10. juli blir alt presentert, so stay tuned!

Er det realistiske muligheter for formasjonsflygning med disse? Selv om det bare er snakk om noen få min. For litt air-to-air bilder...

The charter will originate in Frankfurt, but you can start in Oslo or Toulouse if you want to. Information on where to show up and when will be posted later.

We have the flexibility to choose between A319, A320 and A321 equipment to adjust to number of participants.

Prices includes flights FRA-OSL-TLS-FRA (see above post for times), all meals on the ground (including the Flyertalk dinner on Thursday), full catering on board (and when I say full, I mean FULL), all taxes and fees and of course, Frequent flyer miles.

The prices are regardless of where you originate. You will get a fixed amount of frequent flyer miles regardless of where you originate. If you start in OSL, TLS or FRA, you will get the same amount of miles

Prices are in Euro and needs to be paid in Euro because all costs are in Euro. PS! The scheduled flights are in USD.

Economy Class: 446 Euros/625 USD
Business Class: 732 Euros/1025 USD

Frequent Flyer miles/points: You will get 15.000 status points/eqms and redeemable miles from LH and CO as a fixed amount for the charter experience. We are working to get this from BD, AC, SK and UA as well. There will be no class of service bonus or more points for business. The big difference will be service. Total flying time is around 6 hours, 3 flights, catering will be served on all. And boy, if you are up front, what a day it will be ;-)

Seating will be assigned aisle or window on request. The later you buy your ticket, the bigger chance you have to end up in a middle seat if you are in the back.

Ticketing will be done via www.wideroe.no. There will be a fixed booking fee of 3 Euros to cover credit card expenses.

We are as we speak setting up a DO website that will go live on July 28th, courtesy of xyzzy. You will receive a password to access the website with the link to the ticketing site that date. Please don't contact Wideroe, Lufthansa or anyone else before then. Wideroe will provide a live chat to help when the ticketing site is up. An e-ticket will be issued. The miles/points will be applied to your account manually.

Ticketing will start July 28th at 5PM CET and will be open till August 15th 12AM CET. Tickets are non refundable, but transferable after approval by the Flyertalk team.
