Tragisk historie, men å uleilige 400 passasjerer når intet kan gjøres likevel er det lite å si på. Men visse ting bør man nok tenke på ... (opprinnelig fra Simpleflying)
British Airways Flight BA32 departed Hong Kong last Sunday with 331 passengers. About an hour in, a woman in her 60s passed away. Her family was on board.
The crew did not turn back. A confirmed death is not classified as an emergency in aviation. The captain continued the 13.5 hour flight to London Heathrow.
The flight deck suggested placing the body in a lavatory.
The cabin crew rejected that and instead wrapped her and moved her to a rear galley on the Airbus A350-1000, according to The Sun.
The problem: the galley had underfloor heating and no one caught it. As the plane approached London, passengers began reporting a foul smell from the back of the aircraft, according to Fox News.
Police were waiting at Heathrow when the plane landed. All 331 passengers were held in their seats for 45 minutes, according to Simple Flying. Some crew members have since taken time off due to trauma.
British Airways says all procedures were correctly followed.
