Re: Tips til Hong Kong og Macau tur
Tips om HK er det fullt av på forumet, bare søk. Men eg har et bra tips eg fikk av min amerikanske venn i HK, poster hele tipset her
Resturant Fernandos MÅ besøkes, se detaljer under. Jeg fulgte denne planen og hadde en perfekt dag i Macau. Anbefaler sterkt å kjøre 1.klasse på båten, litt dyrere, men det blir veldig fort fullt på vei tilbake på kvelden
Gameplan Macau
Macau consists of two main areas, the old city, which has some really old classic Asian style casinos and the Cotai Strip which has the huge massive Vegas style casinos like the Venetian & Hard rock. The Cotai is also where the restaurant, Fernando’s is.
Ferry – There are many ferry services, but I recommend Turbo Jet. It’s the biggest, and the boats are clean and very comfortable. You save a bit by booking the return ticket in advance however boats leave every 30 minutes from Macau to HKG and there are no refunds. So if you buy a return ticket and you end up wanting to stay later, or go home earlier you will be SOL.
Cansino Bus/Taxi from ferry - Once you arrive and pass through immigration, there will be visible many many casino buses for you to take. They are all free and depending on which side of the island you want to go, pretty convenient. If you arrive around lunchtime I would recommend just taking a taxi straight to Hac-Sa Beach, where Fernando’s is. You can have lunch, bum around on the beach and drink a few beers, and take the public bus back, about 5HKD. The bus will drop you off right outside the venetian, which is really worth a look. Then take a taxi from the taxi stand at the Venetian to St Paul’s Cathedral, most taxi drivers speak English, but if not the Bell Boy from the venetian will be able to direct you. St Paul’s cathedral is on an old hilltop and is basically the remains of a 500 year old church that burned about 100 years ago. Its on a hilltop and has some good views, and it is adjacent to a Portuguese fortress built in the 1600’s, which is also cool. From St Paul’s cathedral you can walk down the man steps in front and along the old cobblestone streets. Many small shops selling egg tarts (very famous in Macau) and Macau dried beef, which is pretty good and most shops offer free samples. The little cobblestone streets all lead out to a main square, which is painted in old colonial style and usually has a lot of tourists. At this point you can walk towards the old casinos in the city center, the oldest of which is the LISBOA, the first casino in Macau. Its definitely worth going in to people watch.
You can also do it the other way around, if you arrive after lunch, go to St Paul’s fist, walk around the old city and Lisboa, then take a taxi out to Hac-Sa for an early dinner at Fernando’s, take the public bus back to The venetian to walk around inside the casino and take a free Casino Shuttle bus back to the ferry around 8-9pm.
Fernando’s – I strongly recommend the clams, cheese, Portuguese Sausage, BBQ Chicken, Sangria, and Egg Custard for desert. They give you all the free bread you can eat but I recommend that you don’t eat too much as the portions are large. Definitely drink a few Bock Beers, they serve them ice cold and are super tasty
