AA/US merger blir offisiell til uka

Sånn for ordens skyld; en mile er en mile, ikke sant? Slik at vi kan regne med at de overføres fra DM til AAdvantage 1:1?

As we work toward completing the transaction, which we expect to occur in the third quarter of 2013, it remains business as usual at American Airlines and US Airways.

You can continue to book, track and manage flights on aa.com and usairways.com, and earn AAdvantage miles and Dividend Miles by flying with American Airlines and US Airways and through our numerous mileage partners.

Until the merger is complete, each airline will maintain its current loyalty programs (US Airways – Dividend Miles and American Airlines – AAdvantage). Existing miles will continue to be honored, and there will be no impact to either airline’s credit cards.

Förlorare: Philadelphia (för nära JFK), Charlotte (för nära MIA, dupplicerar som east-west transfer där ORD och DFW kommer in), Phoenix (för nära DFW, LAX och inte mycket business).

Alltså, det blir som när AA rör vid något som vanligt. Slakt. Se på TWA, Reno Air och Midway. Komiskt att US gör detta....

Men JFK har lite ledig kapasitet og dermed mye mindre ekspansjonsmuligheter enn PHL.
Når det gjelder MIA ligger denne utrolig usentralt ifht. innenriks, og har mye høyere avgifter enn CLT. Ser likevel aldri for meg at AA kommer til å gi opp den hubben.
 
En del dilemmaer her ... Har dog liten tro på PHL ... NYC er et enormt marked i forhold, og selskapet vil satse det de kan der uansett.
 
Er glad for at det ser ut som FF-programmene går som normalt til Q3. :)

American Airlines parent AMR Corp. (AAMRQ) won approval for its merger with US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) from a judge who also rejected a $20 million severance deal for Chief Executive Officer Tom Horton.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane in Manhattan approved the merger at a hearing yesterday while denying approval for Horton’s severance following opposition from the U.S. government, which called the pay a “golden parachute.”
 
Da har EU godkjent fusjonen, mot at det frigjøres en slot for LHR-PHL hvor Nye AA og BA vil få monopol gjennom des JV, samt at konkurrenten skal tilbys feed inn til ruten

The European Commission has approved the merger of American Airlines and US Airways, “subject to conditions,” the commission said Monday.

US Airways and American Airlines submitted commitments to release one daily slot pair at London Heathrow and Philadelphia airports, and also provided further incentives such as the possibility for a new entrant to acquire grandfathering rights after a certain period of time. Furthermore, the parties, supported by their joint venture partners of the Transatlantic Joint Business, committed to entering into special feed traffic agreements with the likely entrant airline.

Det som skal gjennstå da er det amerikanske justisdepartementet og endelig ja fra konkursretten om AA exit fra Ch11, som innebærer fusjonen
