Was OY-KGT delivered as a MD-81 or was it from the beginning a MD-82?

Re: OY-KGT

According to the book "Luftens vikingar - en bok om SAS alle flygplan" (Åker Hall) OY-KGT was delivered to SAS as a srs -81 and accepted 10.10.85. Konvertert til MD82 19.03.93.

Re: OY-KGT

Intressant är att dokumentationen om OY-KGT säger conv. -82 19.03.93 men skylten ombord 24.03.93.

Thank you very much!

I don' t remember if I have the book …
If yes, it would be in Sweden.

Would it be to much work to ask you for a list of the SAS MD-81?

Absolutely no problem, if you don't have the time to do it! I understand it full ;)

Thanks for the link! I didn't know it.

Planespotters, airfleets, etc, don't have all the MD-81/82 data correct … ;)

For example, OY-KGT is in most databases mentioned as MD-82.

Serveral, if not all, that were sold to Allegiant, were converted to -83 before delivery.

Thanks a lot Espen :)

I have also LN-ROM (ex SE-DIY) as MD-81 before converted to MD-82
and
SE-DFV as MD-81 (later SE-DFR as MD-82).

Andreas, I suppose, they were not flown by SAS after their conversion to MD-83s, correct?

Not revenue. Not sure where the conversion was done. If it was done in Oslo, they would have flown as -83 on the ferryflight to USA. On SK flightnummber. Espan might know.

The registration of SE-DFV was changed to SE-DFR before the aircraft went into service as a MD-81.

And yes, conversions to MD-83s was after they left SAS.

SAS had orginally two MD-83s, LN-RMB and LN-RMF

Try to search these aricraft at http://www.airpics.com, I beleive this databse is correct updated on the SAS fleet.

I logged LN-RMB (As MD-83) on a flight in November 1990, so RMB was in the fleet as an -83 at that time, but it’s not included in the list linked at post #5?

LN-RMF og LN-RMB/SE-DPI ble levert som -83 og derfor aldri konvertert.

Och boken kom ju 2002 så du hittar fler på min förteckning som konverterades senare.

Dear Andreas, Espen, Ole and Ralf,
thank you very much for all your invaluable help!!!

By the way, Planespotters.net has also SE-DHF MD-83 (ex Transwede and Blue Scandinavia) as operated by SAS between May-September 2012 and SE-RJH MD-82 between May 2012-March 2013. Did they ever flew in SAS-colors or only as Spanair?
