Kenya Airways Triples Net Profit
June, 1, 2005 - On closing its fiscal year on March 31, Kenya Airways reported having generated a net profit of EUR 40 million. A year earlier, the net profit booked by KLM’s African partner totaled EUR 13.8 million.
Kenya Airways’ greatly increased net profit - the highest in its history - can be largely attributed to strong growth in passenger and cargo traffic coupled with implementation of a cost-cutting program. The airline transported more than two million passengers, representing a year-on-year increase of 20%. And cargo traffic increased by no less than 38%.
