Boeing-streiken slutt!

Boeing Machinists voted overwhelmingly today to end their eight-week strike, bringing relief to people around the region affected by the shutdown.

Seventy-four percent voted to end the strike .

I'm sure everyone involved is pleased its over, not least the airlines waiting for delivery of their airplanes.

As staff get back to work, recovery of the 787 and 747-8 will be critical.

It remains to be seen whether Boeing can get a 787 first flight this year. If it does, it'll be nothing short of a miracle.

Results have just come in from SPEEA's contract vote and they have ratified the deal, averting a second strike.
