Backbone ceases operation the 17th januar
In order to see possibilities the board of directors and the management has decided to file for voluntary bankruptcy.
We didnt go to the moon - but we did great things.
"we did it ! But we failed to succeed with the business case"
All the best out there.
Backbone Aviation A/S has today voluntarily suspended their AOC while the company continues its negotiations with potential investors.
The company is also in deep talks with several airlines in regards to providing ACMI or Charter services in the coming weeks.
Backbone Chairman Bjarn Lastein said:
This move allows us to completely focus on the possible ways the company could move forward, offering our Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft and crews to our customers.
The company took a financial hit in 2017, when the late delivery of our aircraft from our Lessor resulted in our ACMI contract with a major UK carrier being cancelled..
Subsequently, we signed a multi aircraft deal to provide services to the start-up airline "Powdair". A lot of effort and money went into preparing for that operation, but unfortunately Powdair informed us mere days before scheduled flight were due to commence, that due to their main investor pulling out, the company was effectively out of business.
So for the moment, we might be down, but we're certainly not out.
