A320 Configuration and Hand Baggage Policy
Starting in March 2010, the Airbus A320 is going to be re-configured. The number of seats will be increased from 156 to 162 in all ‘M’ configuration. This increase will be achieved by removing the last 2 rows of Club seats, the rear wardrobes and the rear dog-boxes and replacing them with 3 rows of economy seats. The maximum number of Club seats will be reduced from 52 to 44. The safety and catering equipment currently stored in the wardrobes and dog-boxes will be re-housed in the overhead bins and a new space efficient storage bin.
We have 34 A320 aircraft to be reconfigured. This includes the new aircraft delivered in January 2010 (EUYF). The additional 8 new Airbus due for delivery through to 2012 will arrive fully configured.
The timescales for reconfiguration are:
March 2010 12 aircraft
April 2010 17 “
May 2010 5 “
