American Says Drop in Cabin Pressure Sickens 6 People on Jet

An American Airlines flight from Washington to Chicago landed in Ohio after a partial pressurization loss caused four passengers and two flight attendants to feel ill.

Flight 547, a Boeing Co. 737-800, took off from Washington’s Reagan National about 7:10 a.m. today and had climbed to 28,000 feet when two attendants reported feeling dizzy, Tim Smith, an American spokesman, said in an interview. The captain deployed oxygen masks from the ceiling as a precaution as four passengers also reported feeling ill or dizzy, he said.
