Zimbabwe flyafrica (Z7, Harare Int'l) and its nascent sister firm, Namibia flyafrica (Windhoek Int'l), will be joined by several new subsidiaries scattered throughout West and Central Africa the head of flyafrica sales and fleet management, Michael Adams, has revealed.

Speaking in Johannesburg early last month, Adams said the budget carrier plans to roll out Mozambique flyafrica (Maputo) and Gabon flyafrica (Libreville) in due course after both were granted operator licences by each country's respective regulatory authority.

The pan-African operation is also in the process of securing authorization in Malawi and Benin while the go-ahead to launch operations in Chad would give a foothold into the underexploited Central African market.

flyafrica Ltd, a Mauritius-based private equity aviation investment group, has so far gained entry into each country's market through partnerships formed with existing local operators which so far, have included NU-Aero of Fresh Air (Zimbabwe) (Z7, Harare Int'l) fame, Bay Air Aviation (Windhoek Eros) in Namibia, and Balmoral Aviation in Mozambique.
