Xiamen Airlines starter longhaul

Spesielt å starte med IC til Nice...men det kan hende det er den destinasjonen som ikke er under den største konkuransen...
Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) is considering launching its first international long haul services out of Xiamen with flights to Nice, France later this year. The announcement comes after local Xiamen government functionaries paid a visit to Europe earlier this month. It is speculated Xiamen will deploy its B787-8 on the route though has not yet been confirmed.

At present, Xiamen is linked to Europe by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam) which offers a 3x weekly B777-200(ER) service to Amsterdam.

Nice har etterhvert fått en rekke spennende flyselskap og deatinasjoner på programmet.
Mange som ønsker å menge seg med fiffen på Rivieraen.
Til Paris, London, New York etc er jo konkuransen stor med amerikanske, europeiske, sandkassa og asiatiske aktører. Til Nice er det vel knapt noen uten minimum en connection. Tror den kan gå bra jeg. Cotes dAzur Airport Nice betjener et stort og populært område.
 
Nå kan det se ut som AMSterdam blir første istedenfor Nice..
Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) is reportedly considering opening up direct Xiamen to Amsterdam flights later next year. Though no specific frequencies or dates have been mentioned, it is highly likely the route will be plied by one of the Chinese carrier's B787-8s.

At present, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam) operates the route twice weekly on-board B777-200(ER) metal.

Earlier this year, Xiamen Airlines announced plans to offer direct flights to Nice again offering no hint as to when the flights would start, if ever.

Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) is to make its Oceania debut in October this year with flights to Australia set to begin in October the carrier has announced via a press release. Among the cities being considered include Sydney Kingford Smith and Melbourne Tullamarine.

At present, the carrier is on track to make Amsterdam its first ever intercontinental route with a 3x-weekly service set to commence on July 26. With six B787-8s on order from Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare), of which three have now been delivered, Xiamen Airlines says it is also planning to make its first foray into the North American market later next year with Seattle Tacoma Int'l, San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles Int'l, and Vancouver Int'l all possibilities.

However, in order to serve the United States directly - the West Coast and Mid-West in particular - China's CARNOC quotes Xiamen's manager of the flight planning, Ding Chunling, as saying Xiamen is studying the possibility of reducing the overall number of seats on-board its B787-8s (237 in total: 215(Y), 18(C), and 4(F)) in order to increase its range. While the B777 would offer the range required, its operating costs would likely prove excessive for Xiamen's needs.

As such, the airline is reportedly considering B787-9s for their extended range and capacity over their -8 sisters with reports the airline now intends to operate a fleet of ten Dreamliners come 2020.
