Monarch, a leading UK independent airline group, today announces the biggest investment in its 48 year history, a £165 million investment from its majority shareholder, Greybull Capital.
As a result of this investment Monarch has successfully renewed its ATOL licences from the CAA for the next 12 months and funded future growth plans.

https://monarch.caa.co.ukMonarch has confirmed that the following companies have ceased trading and now entered administration:
Monarch Airlines Ltd
Monarch Holidays Ltd (ATOL Number 2275)
First Aviation Ltd (ATOL Number 4888) previously trading as Monarch Airlines
Avro Ltd (ATOL Number 1939)
Somewhere2stay Ltd
As a result, we are sorry to inform you that, as of 2 October 2017, all future holidays and flights provided by these companies have been cancelled and are no longer operating.

Take anything printed in the Daily Fail as utter nonsense tbh. There's also ludicrous speculation on Twitter also.
Monarch is not bankrupt. The fiscal/financial condition of MON is not (and never was) in question. The future ownership is. If you were selling a car, and the insurance/MOT/road tax was up just before you sold it...it would be pointless to invest more finance. Hope this makes sense.
Regarding the ATOL licence, that is only required for 5% of our business. In other words, we can still operate perfectly fine without it. It's just after last year's fiasco, it's an easy story for the media to blow up
As for the Qatar A320s, they're not for us as we're continuing operations. Unless the CAA have taken it upon themselves to yet again waste millions of tax payer's money, but I very much doubt it.![]()
