Take anything printed in the Daily Fail as utter nonsense tbh. There's also ludicrous speculation on Twitter also.

Monarch is not bankrupt. The fiscal/financial condition of MON is not (and never was) in question. The future ownership is. If you were selling a car, and the insurance/MOT/road tax was up just before you sold it...it would be pointless to invest more finance. Hope this makes sense.

Regarding the ATOL licence, that is only required for 5% of our business. In other words, we can still operate perfectly fine without it. It's just after last year's fiasco, it's an easy story for the media to blow up

As for the Qatar A320s, they're not for us as we're continuing operations. Unless the CAA have taken it upon themselves to yet again waste millions of tax payer's money, but I very much doubt it.

Monarch Airlines has entered administration and all flights have been cancelled with immediate effect.

Advice to Monarch customers, issued by CAA

Customers in the UK yet to travel: don't go to the airport
Customers abroad: everyone due to fly in the next fortnight will be brought back to the UK at no cost to them. There is no need to cut short your stay
All affected customers should check monarch.caa.co.uk for more information
The CAA also has a 24-hour helpline: 0300 303 2800 from the UK and Ireland and +44 1753 330330 from overseas
