• SAS Group carried 2.7 million passengers in October, up
4.6%.
• SAS Group’s capacity (ASK) increased by 6.7% and the
Group’s traffic (RPK) increased by 5.4%.
• The SAS Group’s load factor declined 0.9 p.u. to 74.1%.
Group market trends, RASK and yield development
Traffic growth continued to be positive during October, but did
not fully match all additional capacity. Weather conditions and
short term operational challenges also affected the growth.
Intercontinental and certain European and domestic routes
continued to grow well.
Currency adjusted yield (Scandinavian Airlines) in September
was down 1.6% versus previous year and RASK was up 0.8%
in line with previous guidance. For October 2012 the yield and
RASK (change vs last year) are expected to be close to
unchanged or positive.
The response to market campaigns is good and forward
booking levels continue to be well above last year’s level.
Overall, the market demand continues to be good, but remains
unpredictable due to risk in the global economy. This adds
uncertainty to the yield and RASK outlook going forward.
SAS Group product and news update
• On 15 October, SAS Fast Track Security/Priority Security
Lane opened at Gothenburg International.
• SAS has introduced self service baggage drop at Arlanda
International Terminal 5.
• • SAS will from February 2013 introduce a new non-stop

Scandinavian Airlines traffic development
• Number of passengers increased by 3.8% to 2.4 million.
This is the highest number of transported passengers for
October in five years.
• Traffic increased by 5.3% and capacity was up 6.7%.
• The load factor was down 1.0 p.u. to 74.6%.
Scandinavian Airlines’ traffic grew 5.3% as additional
frequencies and new routes were added to the network. The
growth was primarily driven by demand to/ from
Europe/Intrascandinavia where traffic increased 6.7%. In
particular, Scandinavian Airlines’ intrascandinavian routes
grew strongly. Also, the intercontinental routes continued to
perform well but capacity increase was slightly higher. As a
result, certain Asian routes had a weaker performance. The
domestic traffic increased 3.6% with improved load factors.
Widerøe traffic development
Widerøe carried 261,000 passengers in October, up 12.9%.
The growth is driven by 7,5% increased capacity as a result of
the introduction of new routes to/from Florø and two more
business days in October 2012 than in October 2011. Despite
the growth in passengers, the overall load factor was down 0.6
p.u. to 58.8% .
