Portugisiske viner på Finnair
Portuguese wines take over at Finnair
For a four-week period, Finnair will serve Portuguese wines in business class on European flights more than two hours' long. The wine weeks will start on 10th October and end on 6th November.
One red and one white wine will be served on the flights. Esporão Reserva Tinto 2001 is a full-bodied, exuberant red with a long flavoursome palate and notes of fig. The aroma is of ripe fruits and vanilla. The wine is an excellent complement to red meat and cheese.
Fernao Pires 2004 has refined, fresh flavours. With its fruity aroma, this white wine is suitable for drinking with seafood, fish and salads.
Portuguese wines will also be served in the Lounges. The Silver Wings Lounge will feature Quinta de Bons-Ventos 1999 and Monte Velho Branco 2003. Visitors to the Golden Gate and Long Haul Lounges can enjoy Tinto da Anfora and Fernao Pires 2004.
The Skycellar Winebar will also present two different tasting packages, offering a choice of either table wines or ports and madeiras.
All the wines can also be purchased in Finnair Tax Free Plus shops.
For several years now Finnair's wines have won a considerable international reputation. In 2003 Finnair's red wine was chosen as the best airline red wine. In 1998 and 200o Finnair's white wine was chosen as the best airline white wine, and in 2002 Finnair's champagne was rated the best airline champagne in the world. In 1997, 1999 and 2000 Finnair won the Business Traveller magazine's Best Wine Cellar award. In 1997 Finnair received the Decanter magazine's prize for the best airline wine list.
