LOT planlegger å øke longhaulflåten og melder i diverse sosiale media at de vil lease 3 787-9, med levering fra mars 2018, og blir således deres største fly. Fra før har de 6 -8 i flåten, og vil få ytterligere 2 levert i år

Ser ut som de nå har økt denne leasingbestillingen, så de nå skal få 4 787-9

Og nå øker de til 7, ved å inngå leasingkontrakt på ytterligere 3 maskiner med levering i 2019. De vil da ha 15 langdistansemaskiner i flåten. 8 787-8 og 7 787-9

LOT Polish Airlines will take three additional Boeing 787-9s on 12-year operational lease agreements with Irish lessor Avolon beginning next year, the Warsaw-based-carrier said April 24.

Two will be delivered in May 2019, the third in October 2019. By that point, LOT’s fleet of 787s will total 15 aircraft.
 
LOT forbereder seg på mer 787 motorproblemer gjennom 2020 og har fått tillatelse til å bruke 2 A340-300 fra Air Belgium til Canada til slutten av oktober 2020

LOT Polish Airlines has applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency for approval to use 2 Air Belgium Airbus A340-300, as part of a wet-lease, on the route from Warsaw Chopin, Poland to Toronto Pearson, Canada from 24 December 2019 until 24 October 2020.
 
Hvorfor må man egentlig søke om tillatelse til dette?

Det er vel nærmest er formalitet siden det er open skies mellom EU og Canada, men wetlease må nå engang godkjennes i følge avtalen, slik jeg tolker den

Wet Leasing

15. For the purposes of providing the air services under this Agreement, provided that the airline providing the air services and the operator of the aircraft in such arrangements hold the appropriate authorities, airlines of the Parties may provide air services under this Agreement using aircraft and flight crew provided by other airlines, including from other countries, subject to the approval of aeronautical authorities. For the purposes of this paragraph, airlines operating the aircraft shall not be required to have underlying route authority.
