KLM Earns EUR 91 Million Net Profit in Fiscal 2004/05
June 3, 2005 - Following the announcement of the combined Air France-KLM results on May 19, KLM today published its individual results for fiscal 2004/05.
Over the past fiscal year, ended March 31, KLM earned net profit to the sum of EUR 91 million. This is an improvement of EUR 67 million compared with fiscal 2003/04.
The improvement may be partly attributed to further implementation of cost-cutting measures, and to a substantial increase in passenger and cargo traffic. Soaring fuel costs, which were up 27%, were partly offset by a weak dollar and a sound hedging policy. The merger with Air France also contributed to the growth in traffic and profit margins.
