På tross av de rapporterer om et vanskelig marked fullt av utfordringer forbedrer Swiss resultatet i forhold til fjoråret og klarte et drifts CHF 16 mill (ca 98 MNOK), mot et underskudd på 10 i fjor

Swiss International Air Lines (Group) achieved an operating profit of CHF 16 million for the first three months of 2011. The result is an improvement on the CHF 10 million operating loss sustained for the first quarter of the previous year, owing largely to the financial crisis. Total income from operating activities for January-to-March 2011 amounted to CHF 1.15 billion, a 7% increase on the prior-year period. The airfreight business of Swiss WorldCargo posted a satisfactory first-quarter performance

Driftsresultat er ikke det samme som Resultat. I Driftsresultatet er det ikke tatt med finansutgifter. Da kommer nok også Swiss under streken i minus. Men alikevel, bra at det er bedre tall enn i fjor.

Men 'Big Mama' Lufthansa taper penger ...

"The current challenges disrupt the course of business, but do not imperil the fundamental development of the company," Lufthansa said in its quarterly financial report on Thursday as it confirmed its full-year outlook.

Lufthansa has said these events would weigh on its outlook and impacted results by 40 million euros in the first quarter.

Still, it reported a narrower than expected quarterly operating loss of 227 million euros late on Wednesday.
