Construction on the Middle East's highest air traffic control tower worth an estimated Dhs 143 million has begun at Dubai World Central, the urban aviation community taking shape at Jebel Ali in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Awarded to Arabtec/Max Bogl, a Dubai-German joint venture company, the project consists of a 91 metre high air traffic control tower and a technical block of 6000 square metres which will house offices, operations, technical rooms, flight simulator and a meteor observation cabin.

JXB, when completed, will be the world's largest airport with six parallel 4.5 kilometere runways, up to 16 cargo terminals, two mega passenger terminals and six concourses, with a capacity to handle 120 million passengers and 12 million tons of cargo annually

Jeg lærte da i sin tid når jeg startet at Tårnet på Gardermoen er 91 meter høyt det og?

Denne er ny og DXB skal fortsette. JXB vil ligge mellom Dubai og Abu Dhabi så det blir faktisk tre flyplasser ganske nærme hverandre.

jasså - så du sitter på 91m du også. Nå hørte jeg i dag at Abu Dhabi airport skal også bygge nytt tårn og det skal visstnok bli ca 110 meter høyt...
