British Airways A380-ruter og status

BA oppdaterer gradvis ruteprogrammet for neste sommer. Det ser ut som om IAD nå blir permanent jumbo på begge daglige avgangene og 380en som gikk på formiddagen fra LHR forsvinner.

British Airways in summer 2017 season is adjusting operational aircraft for London Heathrow – Washington Dulles route, effective from 26MAR17. The 2 daily service will be operated by Boeing 747-400, replacing a mix of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, except from 01JUN17 to 30JUL17.

Jeg antar at dette er jumboer med såkalt high-j config. Til gjengjeld så utvides bruken av 380 til YVR hvis en sammenligner med hva de gjorde i sommer:

British Airways in last week’s schedule update made additional adjustment to planned London Heathrow – Vancouver operation, for summer 2017. The A380 seasonal service will once again begin from 01MAY17, instead of 01JUN17, until 30SEP17. Planned schedule as follow.

Og til slutt så er 380 inne på ruten til BOS igjen en liten periode i vinter:

British Airways in Tuesday morning’s schedule update (08AUG17) adjusted planned operational aircraft for London Heathrow – Chicago O’Hare route, for summer 2018 season. Within the last 20 minutes (0900hrs GMT+1), the oneWorld member filed Airbus A380 operation on 1 of 2 daily flights, operating as BA295/294.

Reservation is now available.

Hvorvidt dette har rot i virkeligheten er jo en ting, men flightglobal hoster om rykter at BA (among others) er interessert i noen av de maskinene som SQ er i ferd med å sende vekk

9V-SKA og 9V-SKB har SQ allerede tatt ut av flåten.
 
Walsh har vel tidligere langt på vei bekreftet at BA de facto er interessert i andrehånds A380.
 
Airbus er jo også veldig interessert i å støtte opp om A380 bruktmarkedet om dagen (for å få solgt flere nye fly), så her kan det nok være mulig å gjøre noen brukbare avtaler.
 
It's official:
"British Airways has now confirmed the return of the Airbus A380. Initially, four aircraft will return to operate flights to Los Angeles, Miami, and Dubai from December. As previously expected, the airline will also complete short-haul crew familiarisation flights next month. Though British Airways hasn’t confirmed the routes, they are expected to be to Frankfurt and Madrid.

Reports suggested that Dallas Fort Worth was also on the cards, but facilities to handle the giant are still being implemented."
