Vinterens nyhet om at Boeing vurderer å overta deres leverandør Spirit Aerosystems, for å bedre kvaliteten blant annet, har fått Spirits nest største kunde, Airbus, til å også måtte involvere seg. Så sies nå de begge er i samtaler om på en eller annen måte dele opp Spirit mellom seg.

Ifølge Reuters er Boeing og Airbus nu i færd med at finde en måde, hvorpå de to flyproducenter eventuelt kan dele Spirit AeroSystems mellem sig således, at de hver især overtager de fabrikker, som er nødvendige for, at produktionen kan fortsætte som hidtil.

Nærmer seg en avtale her, hvor vel Boeing overtar mesteparten, mens Airbus får det som Spirit i dag gjør for dem. Slik jeg forstår det.

the site of St. Nazaire, France (A350 fuselage sections);
the site of Casablanca, Morocco (A321 and A220 components);
the production of components for the A320 and A350 wings in Prestwick, Scotland;
the production of A220 pylons in Wichita, Kansas, U.S.;
the production of A220 wings in Belfast, Northern Ireland; and
if a suitable buyer is not identified for the remainder of the Belfast site, the production of the A220 mid-fuselage.
