American Airlines og JetBlue inngår et samarbeid hvor man på utvalgte ruter kan opptjene bonuspoeng hos hverandre.

Det ser også ut som om JetBlue vil hjelpe til med feed til AA sine internasjonale ruter fra JFK og Boston, mens AA vil bidra med å feede JetBlue sine innenriksruter

American Airlines and JetBlue Airways announced today the launch of a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement, effective Nov. 18, which allows members of the American Airlines AAdvantage® program and JetBlue's TrueBlue® customer loyalty program to earn AAdvantage miles or TrueBlue points, respectively, in select markets.

In addition, the commercial agreement announced in March 2010 has been expanded to include one new American Airlines international market and nine new JetBlue domestic markets. Customers will now be able to easily connect on flights to a total of 15 of American's international destinations departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston Logan Airport (BOS), including Barcelona, Spain (BCN); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GIG); and Tokyo, Japan; and 26 JetBlue domestic markets, including Portland, Maine; Rochester, N.Y.; or Richmond, Va.

Etter å ha fløyet med JetBlue nylig fikk jeg inntrykket av at de samarbeidet med både dette og hint, og reklame for hhv. American, LH og South African Airways gikk på skjermene. Inn til JFK ble det også anmodet om at man slapp av noen reisende som skulle connecte med LH først, så det selges tydeligvis også gjennomgående internasjonale reiseruter.

Har ikke JetBlue nettopp annonsert at de skal starte samarbeid med Emirates også? En slags "passenger-sharing alliance"?

Jetblue er et bra selskap, trivdes godt ombord. Servicen er bedre enn de fleste amerikanske selskaper på innenriks.

American Airlines and JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) are in talks to add more cities outside the U.S. to their joint booking and frequent-flier agreement, two people familiar with the discussions said.

An expanded accord would help AMR Corp. (AMR)’s American fill more seats on international flights from New York and Boston, and let JetBlue win domestic passengers by offering destinations it can’t reach with its own planes, said the people, who declined to be identified because the discussions are private.
