airBaltic winter timetable: more flights, new destinations
Riga, 25.10.2005. – On 30th October this year, airBaltic will begin operating its winter timetable, which will be valid until 26th March 2006. The timetable will include important changes from the summer timetable, and will feature direct flights to two new destinations. This winter airBaltic will operate direct flights to a total of 26 destinations from Riga, and 12 from Vilnius.

Commenting on the changes in the 2005–2006 winter timetable, airBaltic president Bertolt Flick said, “In planning our winter timetable we have taken our passengers’ wishes into account, offering more direct routes and an increased number of flights, as well as lower ticket prices. We hope that our passsengers will view these changes positively and that the changes themselves will further the growth in air passenger traffic to and from the Baltic region.”

The main changes to flights from Riga this winter will be connected with the opening of flights to Dnepropetrovsk, the largest industrial centre and one of the greatest cities in Ukraine. Flights will operate three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The number of flights will also be increased on some routes. Throughout the winter, flights to Oslo will operate nine times per week: daily every day except Saturdays, and twice daily on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. airBaltic has also increased the number of flights to Paris, and from now on this route will operate four times per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flights to Stuttgart, however, will be discontinued. A new special offer on flights to Oslo is now available on the airBaltic website: one-way tickets starting from LVL 16.60 including airport taxes.

The winter season also brings changes to the flight timetable from Vilnius. During the winter season, airBaltic plans to start direct flights to Stockholm. Flights will beoperated six times per week. Prices for one-way tickets will start at LVL 76 (LTL 375), taxes included. At the same time, airBaltic will operate flights between Tallinn and Vilnius three times per day during the week, as well as one flight on Sundays. This will allow passengers from Lithuania and Estonia to carry out international business trips in a fraction of a working day. This winter, the airBaltic fleet will be enlarged by the addition of two more Fokker-50 aircraft, which will be used to carry out operations from its Vilnius hub.

Given the demand for tickets over Christmas and the New Year, the number of flights from Riga and Vilnius to Dublin will be increased.
