Air New Zealand legger ned London-Hong Kong

Dermed er det ikke lenger mulig å fly jorden rundt med Air New Zealand.

Air New Zealand today (05NOV12) announced the cancellation of Hong Kong – London Heathrowservice (as well as round-the-world service) starting 05MAR13.

Star Alliance-selskapet har i stedet inngått samarbeid med oneworld-selskapet Cathay Pacific.

The Star Alliance member says the route cancellation is part of its strategy to return its international network to profitability and will be supported by the continued implementation of an alliance based network with a Pacific Rim focus, through a partnership with Cathay Pacific on the Auckland – Hong Kong route.

Dette er andre OW-selskap som har gått til sengs med noen ikke-OW. Ser ut til det er store sprekker i OW, og på ryktebørsen sies det at Cathay Pacific ønsker overgang til Star Alliance.

og BA og AY er vel heller ikke spesielt interessert i dette, ettersom hva jeg kan se så er HKG et av de store OW strongholds i Sørøst-Asia?!

nei, og det overrasket meg litt at det kun er codeshare (etter hva jeg kan se) på LHR-CPH, LHR-LIS og HKG-ICN.
