Air France is pressing ahead in the integration of KLM, with the appointment of Frederic Gagey as CFO of the Dutch carrier. Gagey is currently VP finance of Air France. He will replace Rob Ruijter, who leaves KLM today following his appointment in September as CFO and a member of the executive board of VNU, the Amsterdam-listed international information and media group. Ruijter is the highest profile departure from KLM since the takeover by Air France. Gagey will become one of the four managing directors on the KLM board. The transfer of an Air France executive to the KLM board was agreed as part of the merger deal. A KLM executive will also join the executive committee of Air France in due course. As well as the high level exchange of executives the two airlines are also planning the transfer of a larger number of young managers between the two airlines to foster the integration of the two operations.
