FRA/rap-th> Fraport AG as well as aviation enthusiasts from the
Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region and far beyond are excited that the world's
first airport compatibility tests for the A380 superjumbo will be conducted
at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). The southern airport area will provide the best
vantage point for the public to get a first-hand glimpse of this giant
European jet.
On October 29 - weather permitting - spectators at the southern viewing area
will be able to watch the landing of the A380 and see it parking at Terminal
2. Fraport AG also intends to erect large video walls for the enjoyment of
spectators at the southern viewing area.
Fraport AG is pleased to offer a breakfast snack to spectators at the
southern viewing area. The event will start at 06:30 in the morning
(admission from 05:00) and will end no later than 12:00 noon. For those
A380 fans coming to the airport by public transportation, shuttle busses
will be operating from Terminals 1 and 2 to the southern viewing area.
Shuttle buses will also be available from off-airport parking lots at the
Frankfurt soccer stadium, the Messe Frankfurt trade fair grounds, and
"Gehspitz" to the event area.
Visitors should note that viewing the superjumbo for any location in or
around Terminal 1 will not be possible. For security reasons, the
Visitors' Terrace at FRA's Terminal 1 will be closed on October 29 and,
likewise, the regular airport tours will not be offered.
