I 2023 planla BBN Airlines-«armen» i Avia Solution Group å starte opp BBN Airlines Thailand,
nå ser det isteden ut til at det blir SmartLynx Thailand (isteden for BBN Airlines Thailand).

Thai SmartLynx is poised to become Thailand’s first ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, starting operations in early 2025 with Airbus A320s. In partnership with Avia Solutions Group and local partners, the company is finalizing regulatory approvals for its Air Operator’s Certificate. The new ACMI service will address Thailand’s seasonal air travel demand, which is driven by factors such as holiday seasons and school schedules.

Thai SmartLynx has reached a key milestone by obtaining its Air Operator’s License (AOL) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). The AOL was officially handed over by CAAT Director General Suttipong Kongpool to Martynas Grigas, Chairman of Thai SmartLynx, and Apirak Homlaor, CEO of Thai SmartLynx.

This achievement paves the way for the airline to secure its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) by the beginning of 2025. Backed by Avia Solutions Group, Thai SmartLynx is dedicated to supporting Thailand’s aviation industry through ACMI leasing solutions, providing airlines with flexible and cost-effective alternatives to aircraft ownership.

Thai SmartLynx Airlines (THB, Bangkok Don Mueang) received its first aircraft, an A320-200, on August 22, 2025. Now registered as HS-SXA (msn 5089), the aircraft landed at Bangkok Don Mueang, the airline's base.
