Litt usikker hva navnet fortsatt blir men Sukhoi har lansert en ny 75 seters variant av Superjeten. Dog er det snakk om kanskje mye som endres og ikke bare en ren krymping av SSJ100. Blant annet trengs nye motorer, da dagens motorer er for store og Sukhoi er heller ikke fornøyd med dem, blant annet på grunn av mye vedlikehold. Det vurderer også en ny vinge

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) has launched a major "shrink" derivative of the Superjet – and the variant could be powered by Pratt & Whitney's PW1000G geared turbofan when it enters service in 2022.

The Superjet's current 18,000lb-thrust (80kN) PowerJet SaM146 engine is "a bit too big", says Rubtsov, "so we could detune it or use other engines, either Russian or non-Russian, to optimise the aircraft".

Potential engines under evaluation include the Aviadvigatel PD-7 derivative of the Irkut MC-21's PD-14, and the 17,000lb-thrust Pratt & Whitney PW1200G which powers the Mitsubishi MRJ.

Russia’s S7 Group has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) for 50 Sukhoi Superjet 75 (SSJ75) aircraft, plus 25 options. The new aircraft design, which SCAC announced in February, is a 75-seat modification of the SSJ100.
