The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has banned various older Antonov Design Bureau turboprops from the country's airspace effective March 15.

According to an SCAA letter seen by the Voice of America (VOA), the ban affects all An-24, An-26, An-32, and An-12 turboprops. In the letter, the regulator said its decision was based on a lack of certified AMO facilities in East Africa capable of servicing the aircraft.

Sør-Sudan setter maksgrense på alder på PAX-flyvninger.
he South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA) has instituted ageing aircraft laws in the interests of boosting public safety.

According to African Daily Voice, Minister of Information Michael Makuei Lueth told a press conference in Juba earlier this month that from now on, aircraft older than 20 years of age would be restricted to cargo operations.

Det er mange store flyselskaper som hadde måttet parkere en betydelig andel av flåten sin da.

Jeg trur Sør-Sudan har viktigere sikkerhetsutfordringer enn fly produsert på 90-tallet.
