Air India (AI, Mumbai International) wrote off approximately INR70 billion Indian rupees (USD853.2 million) in the 12 months to March 31, 2023, because of losses incurred at AirAsia India (I5, Bangalore International) and issues with older aircraft and engines, according to an Economic Times report.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted approval for the merger of Tata Group’s airlines, Vistara and Air India, on September 1, 2023, subject to specific conditions. This merger could position Air India as India’s largest international carrier and the second-largest domestic airline, following IndiGo.

Singapore Airlines har fått godkjent sin 25.1% eierandel i nye Air India.

The Indian government has approved Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) taking a 25.1% stake in an enlarged Air India (AI, Delhi International) following that airline absorbing and merging with Vistara (UK, Delhi International). Singapore Airlines announced the approval via an August 30 regulatory filing.
