Golden Dragon, a Macau-based start-up regional carrier, has received Macau Government approval to operate to ten destinations (The Standard, 16 June). Other details include:
Launch: Early 2006;
Fleet: will lease two 75-seat Embraer aircraft;
Network: Nanning, Shijiazhuang, Nanchang, Zhengzhou, Jinan, Changsha, Guangzhou and Hohhot (all in Mainland China), plus Hanoi (Vietnam) and Vientiane (Laos);
Licenses: The carrier has already received a sub-concession license agreement from Air Macau;
Ownership: Stanley Ho's helicopter unit, East Asia Airlines, is expected to acquire a majority shareholding in Golden Dragon.
