Wizzair etablerer sin først base i Tyskland, når de fra starten av august flytter 3 fly til Dortmund og starter 18 ruter derfra. Tror Ryanair vel er største selskap på flyplassen fra før.

Da blir basen i Dortmund lagt ned...

Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) has informed its staff in Dortmund in an email seen by local media, and has confirmed to ch-aviation, that it has decided to close its base thereafter the current summer season is over. Routes and frequencies will remain as planned during the summer season, but they will significantly reduce after the base closes on October 24.

Wizz Air told ch-aviation that it had “decided to close its Dortmund base and take advantage of growth opportunities by reallocating its capacity to other routes with higher demand effective from 24 October 2021. Dortmund will remain an integral part of the Wizz Air network and the airline will continue to connect Dortmund with over 30 destinations in Europe including the popular Sarajevo, Sofia, Belgrade, Budapest, and many others. All affected employees at the Dortmund base will be offered opportunities elsewhere in the Wizz Air network.”
