A KLM airlines cargo plane developed a technical fault and dropped brakes mid-air in Chitungwiza forcing it to crash-land at Robert Mugabe International Airport on Monday, Zim Morning Post has learnt.

There were no casualties and we could not get comment from the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe at the time of writing.

German investigators probing the loss of a Boeing 747-400ER freighter’s flap on landing at Frankfurt Main have indicated that previous incidents on the type have been the result of corrosion and inadequate lubrication of parts.
