Gabon fikk lyst på et eget nasjonalt selskap, og har grunnlagt FlyGabon, som etter planen starter opp i slutten av måneden. Dog ikke som et helt egent selskap, med på den som nesten kan sies være "konkurrentens" Afrijets AOC og innleie, med en ATR-72 og innenriksflyvninger. Etterhvert er også planen å wetlease en A320 og fly fra Libreville til Johannesburg.

The brand will be operated by Afrijet Business Service (J7, Libreville Leon M'Ba), after the Gabonese government acquired a majority shareholding in the private carrier through a new holding company, FlyGabon Holding, earlier this year. While Afrijet will continue to serve regional destinations under its own name, FlyGabon will initially focus on domestic routes, including the destinations Libreville Leon M'Ba, Franceville/Mvengue, Port Gentil, and Oyem.

Toulouse, 20 September 2024 – Gabonese airline Afrijet, leader in Central Africa, signed a firm order for one ATR 42-600, with an option for one more, with world’s number one regional aircraft manufacturer ATR. The aircraft will replace Afrijet’s former generation ATR 42-500, offering advanced passenger amenities to serve the regional air travel needs of the Gabonese communities. It will join FlyGabon’s fleet of two ATR 72-600. The delivery of the first aircraft is planned for 2025, and the option is to be delivered in 2026.
