Boeing in-sourcer komposittproduksjon

Boeing skal produsere flere kompositt-deler innomhus. I dette tilfellet er det de horisontale stabilisatorene til 787-9 som skal produseres i Utah. Til 787-8 har disse blitt produsert av italienske Alenia Aermacchi.

The new site is about 20 miles from Boeing’s fabrication and assembly site in Salt Lake City. The close proximity of the two facilities will help improve the efficiency from component fabrication to assembly of the 787-9 horizontal stabilizer, said Craig Trewet, director of Boeing Salt Lake.
