Finnair First for In-Flight Fashion
Heavenly elegance: that was the verdict on Finnair cabin crew uniforms delivered by French travel magazine Bon Voyage, which listed what it considers to be the 20 most stylish crew uniforms. Finnair took fifth place and was the only western airline uniform in the top ten. Thai Airways took first place, with Air Tahiti and Singapore Airlines runners-up.
Bon Voyage has a circulation of some 100,000 in France and other French-speaking countries. Style was the key criterion in the Bon Voyage listing. Along with the reception and smiles offered to passengers, uniforms are part of airline service quality. According to the magazine, Finnair's marine blue outfits complement perfectly the fair crews.
'Finnishness' and freshness were key words in the planning of the uniforms, which were introduced in 2002 and designed by Finnish designer Anna-Kaisa Huttunen who lives in Paris.
