A NEW AIRBUS 320 JOINS THE SPANAIR FLEET

THE COMPANY CURRENTLY HAS 21 PLANES FROM THE LATEST GENERATION A320 FAMILY

Madrid, 17 November 2005 -. Spanair has brought a new, latest generation Airbus 320 into its fleet, taking its pool of A320/321 aircraft used thus far up to twenty-one.

The company's objective is to enhance its fleet's technology, and in doing so Spanair has become the first operator worldwide of the new version of these aircraft, whose maximum weight on take-off has been raised to 93 tonnes, which means that it can make direct flights from the Canary Islands to the Scandinavian countries without stopping off.

The A320 and A321 planes, which are manufactured by European consortium Airbus, in which Spain participates, have been gradually incorporated into the fleet in line with the expansion programme announced by the company for both domestic and international routes.

Spanair's A320 is a 156-seater and is fitted with state-of-the-art communications and comfort facilities for passengers. The A320/A321 fleet is powered by V2527-AE motors built by consortium IAE International Aero Engines, in which Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney are majority shareholders.

Founded in 1986, Spanair offers over 1,000 flights daily using a modern fleet of 64 aircraft and code-sharing with its partners to 278 destinations. Since April 2003 it has been part of Star Alliance, the world's largest and most prestigious global airline network.

Default Replying to Topic 'Q: A321 SK vs JK'

Spanair har väl A321-200IGW (increased gross weight). Om jag kommer ihåg rätt skulle SAS ha en för CPH-SFJ, men så blev det som vi alla vet inte
