A couple of days ago I wrote about how Zimbabwe took delivery of a Boeing 777 this week, which used to fly for Malaysia Airlines.

Zimbabwe’s government owned airline is 300 million USD in debt, so Zimbabwe is doing what any rational government would do, and is acquiring four 777s that they’ll be leasing to a start-up airline in their country. Bye bye Air Zimbabwe, hello Zimbabwe Airways! What could possibly go wrong?

La oss holde oss til Zimbabwe. Det er stor forskjell på Uganda og Zim. Det blir som å sammenligne Finland og Italia. Afrika er ikke et land, men et kontinent tre ganger så stort som Europa.

Når det er sagt, det finnes ikke korrupsjon i Zimbabwe. Det er et rykte satt ut av Robert Mugabes fiender...

That’s only half of the scandal. It then came out that allegedly 140 million USD couldn’t be accounted for in this deal. That happens to me as well sometimes. You know, when you drop 41 million USD on something, and then 140 million USD goes missing. You’ve just gotta roll with the punches in life, you know?

Og soga fortsetter ... kjerra er tilbake i Malaysia for sjekk uten å ha flydd så mye som en time, og da skulle man kanskje tro at Zimbabwe Airways var klare for action?

A first feasibility study is scheduled for completion by the end of August 2023.
