Southwest har begynt masse pensjonering av deres B737CL - Boeing B737-300. Dette for at deres piloter skal få fly B737NG og B737MAX.

Det er vel ikke pilotene og foreningene, men mer en operasjonelt prosedyre hvor SWA ikke oensker aa opprettholde sertfisering av 3 forskjellige typer, spesiellt siden 737CL hele tiden har vaert planlagt ut av flaaten. Det som skjedde var at Boeing ble ferdig med 737MAX tidligere enn planlagt, slik at SWA utsatte innfasingen av MAX.

Har jeg skjønt det riktig så tillater heller inne FAA at man kan fly CL, NG og MAX på gang som pilot?

Travlet med pensjoneringen av 737-300 denne helgen, som jo var siste med trafikk for 737CL hos Southwest. Såvidt jeg kan telle er 31 maskiner ferget til ørkenen de siste dagene, så står vel endel rekker med disse i Victorville nå

This past weekend, Southwest Airlines retired their fleet of Boeing 737-300s and two days later inaugurated service with the new Boeing 737-8MAX jet. Our friend and Southwest Pilot Herb Jackson had the opportunity to fly both. We chatted with him about his amazing experience.
