Default Australian Airlines blir LCC+

Australian Airlines introducing premium economy service
Leithen Francis, Singapore (29Nov05, 07:57 GMT, 181 words)

Australian leisure carrier Australian Airlines is introducing a “premium economy” class service from the middle of next year and is retrofitting its fleet of Boeing 767-300ERs to remove the existing single economy class configuration.

“Currently Australian Airlines offers an all-economy cabin of 271 seats, which will be reconfigured as 28 premium economy and 238 economy” in an effort to “give customers more choice,” Australian Airlines chief executive Andrea Staines says in a statement.

“Main features of Australian Airlines’ premium economy product will be more spacious seating” – in terms of leg room, seat width and recline – as well as “priority boarding and priority meal service,” she adds.

Premium economy fares will go on sale early next year and prices will be disclosed “closer to the time,” she adds.

Australian Airlines now uses five 767-300ERs to operate from Australia to four cities in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali in Indonesia and Phuket in Thailand.

The carrier plans to add a sixth 767-300ER in the middle of next year which is currently operated by parent Qantas and will be delivered in the new configuration.

Sikkert ikke så dumt. Først fått seg et bra kundegrunnlag, for så og utvidet tilbudet.
