BA British Airways has announced significant changes to its loyalty programme

Quote:
British Airways has announced significant changes to its loyalty programme, BA Executive Club. Starting from November 16, Airmiles, Iberia Plus and the BA Exec Executive Club members will earn Avios points.

Speaking exclusively to Business Traveller, Andrew Swaffield, Managing Director of the Mileage Company which runs the Airmiles programme and manages the BA Executive Club and Iberia Plus programmes said that the intention of the new programme was to “create a new shared global reward currency to provide benefits for all three members.”

Relativt rimelige uttak i Europa.

Quote:
British Airways is re-launching its Executive Club for frequent fliers with a new ‘Bronze’ card tier.
http://www.travelmole.com/stories/1149841.php

Det skal gi følgende fordeler:

Quote:
Business class check-in

Seat selection seven days before departure

Earning 1.25 Avios (formerly Air Miles) for every mile flown

Dedicated telephone number (UK & US)

Bronze tier luggage tags

Ellers nevnes følgende:

Quote:
All Executive Club customers will now be able to collect as many tier points as they can in any one membership year, rather than start again when they’ve reached the next tier level.

Quote:
"We will be increasing the number of Tier Points you can earn on longhaul flights, giving you the opportunity to earn more when you fly.

As well as introducing our Bronze tier, and changes to how Tier Points are earned, in March 2012 we are aligning our tier thresholds around the world. All members will need to earn the same number of Tier Points to reach each level:

Bronze - 300 Tier Points, including 2 eligible flights or 25 eligible flights
Silver - 600 Tier Points, including 4 eligible flights or 50 eligible flights
Gold - 1,500 Tier Points, including 4 eligible flights"

* Hva blir de nye opptjeningene til BA?
* Forblir det soft landing?

780 tier points igjen :rolleyes

Default Re: British Airways has announced significant changes to its loyalty programme

Jeg har netop modtaget denne mail:

"Dear Mr jefi99,

Over the last few weeks you’ll have received several emails about changes we are making to the Executive Club and how we are creating a global programme and a more rewarding Club for our Members.

A change to European tier thresholds.
When we introduced lower tier thresholds for Europe it was to make it easier for our European Members, who mainly fly shorthaul, to earn Silver or Gold status.

Since then we have introduced a number of changes to the Club that make it easier for you to earn Tier Points and status. You now earn Tier Points on all British Airways flights, even when you fly Discounted Economy. And you can also earn Silver status when you take 50 eligible flights with us in one membership year, even if you don’t have the required number of Tier Points.

We want all our Members around the world to enjoy the same opportunities and benefits of being in the Club and on 1 March 2012 will be aligning our tier thresholds, so that they are the same for all our Members.

The new Tier Point thresholds for Europe will therefore be:

Silver – 600 Tier Points (including 4 eligible flights), or 50 eligible flights
Gold – 1,500 Tier Points (including 4 eligible flights)

Whilst we are increasing the number of Tier Points needed for Silver or Gold status, we are making additional changes that will help you earn status within the Club.

Find out more

Introducing Bronze – our new tier with valuable benefits.
On 16 November, we’re introducing a new tier – Bronze. Positioned between Blue and Silver, Bronze is designed to reward Members who don’t fly with us as regularly. Bronze Members will enjoy extra recognition and benefits such as business class check-in and advance seat selection. To earn Bronze status you will only need to earn 300 Tier Points (including 2 eligible flights) or take 25 eligible flights in one membership year.

Find out more

A new way to accumulate Tier Points over the year.
In addition to Bronze we are also making changes to how you accumulate Tier Points over your membership year. Instead of resetting them to zero when you reach a new tier, from 16 November, you’ll keep them until the end of your 12 month membership period. As a result, your Tier Point balance can grow more quickly, allowing you to move through the tiers faster.

Find out more

Earn more Tier Points when flying longhaul.
We are also increasing the number of Tier Points you earn when you fly longhaul with us and our oneworld® partners. From 16 November, you will earn an increased number of Tier Points when you fly on any of our longhaul routes in all travel classes, including Discounted Economy.

Find out more

Continued Silver or Gold status.
Finally, as a way of recognising your continued loyalty to British Airways, and to help make the transition to our new higher tier thresholds easier, we are offering European Members the chance to retain their status.

If you are a Silver or Gold member on 1 March 2012 you will be able to renew at the existing Tier Point threshold (400/800 respectively) for the next two membership years. However, in order to move up a tier after the 1 March 2012, you will need to do so at the new thresholds of 600/1500 Tier Points.

I’ll be in touch again soon to welcome you to our new, revitalised Club.

Warm regards,

James Hillier
Executive Club Manager"

Saft suse.

Silver here we come.

Yes, any Silver members who do not achieve Silver status within their membership year will be downgraded to Bronze.
