Antal passagerare ökade med 13,5%

SAS koncernen transporterade 2,6 miljoner passagerare under maj, en
ökning med 13,5%. SAS hade även tydliga framgångar med ökad trafik på
svenska inrikeslinjer där konkurrensen ökat.

SAS koncernen fortsatte att öka kapaciteten i maj i enlighet med
tidigare planer med 10,2%. Den interkontinentala trafiken ökade något,
framförallt på USA till följd av öppnandet av linjen Oslo-New York som
fortsatte visa en god utveckling. Scandinavian Airlines trafik ökade i
Danmark, Norge och Sverige med särskilt god tillväxt på norsk och svensk
inrikes. På de svenska inrikeslinjerna till/från Göteborg och Malmö
ökade SAS trafik med 4% respektive 19% trots ökad konkurrens.

SAS koncernens totala kabinfaktor minskade med 2,2 procentenheter till
73,4% vilket till stor del förklaras av effekterna från den tidigare
jordbävningen i Japan.

- Det är glädjande att se att trafiktillväxten i stort fortsätter i nivå
med våra förväntningar. Att vi trots kraftigt ökad konkurrens på vissa
inrikeslinjer kan uppvisa tillväxt visar att vi klarar konkurrensen väl
och att kunderna uppskattar SAS erbjudande, säger Rickard Gustafson, SAS
VD och koncernchef.

Enhetsintäkten, RASK, som rapporteras med en månads fördröjning, steg
under april med 6,1%. Utvecklingen för maj förväntas likna utfallet
under april med en något positiv RASK och fortsatt stabil yield.

Skulle vel da bli rundt 26.252.000 på 12 mnd
Og for den saken skyld så har vel DY tatt minimalt innpå fra april-mail siste 12mnd rullerende (?)

Stabil yield hos SAS og stigende yield hos Norwegian. Får håpe det stiger hos begge fremover, og det er vel ikke umulig.
Hva med LF på langdistanse, er den fremdeles "for høy"?
Ser man på biz-priser på f.eks. orbitz.com, så ligger SAS ofte lavest. Det er jo helt feil når det gjelder priser fra hjemmemarkedet.

En klart signal at den verste priskamp er over. Begge aktörer fokusserer na pa inntekter fremfor a ha störst vekst.Fornunften er tilbake. Bra for de selskaper, men ikke like bra for kunder, spesielt disse som er mest pris-sensitive...

SAS sin yield bør vel stige i omtrent samme takt som DY sin yield for mai (det var april SAS rapporterte nå).

SAS Group's May 2011 traffic figures
• SAS Group's traffic (RPK) increased by 7% during May and capacity (ASK) increased 10.2% vs same period.
• The passenger load factor decreased by 2.2 p.u. to 73.4%.
• SAS Group carried 2.6 million passengers in May, up 13.5%.

Group market trends, RASK and yield development
During April 2011, currency adjusted RASK was up 6.1% and yield was down 0.7%, due to weak comparable figures. The development is in line with guidance. For May 2011, passenger yield and RASK (change vs last year) are expected to be similar to April with a stable yield and slightly positive RASK – RASK will be positively affected by cargo and other traffic related revenues but negatively affected by the weaker load factor.
The market remains unpredictable, particularly RASK development due to overcapacity in certain markets and high jet fuel prices. Scandinavian Airlines is continuously improving its customer offering and improvements in customer satisfaction have been achieved. The implementation of the cost saving program is on track.

SAS Group product and news update
• As an example of providing additional innovative and useful services, SAS is responding to customer preferences through pioneering launching information via the mobile phone about delayed baggage.
• SAS and Singapore Airlines have signed a letter of intent to further develop and enhance their partnership.

Scandinavian Airlines’ traffic development
• Number of passengers increased by 10.5% to 2.2 million.
• Traffic increased 6.3% and capacity was up 9.2%.
• The load factor was down 2 p.u. to 74.5%.

The intercontinental traffic was up by 0.3% in May and capacity increased by 9.9%. The traffic on Asian routes continued to be negatively affected to/from Japan due to the devastating earthquake in March. Traffic on North Atlantic routes improved and grew by 9.3%. On European routes, traffic was up 6.2%, in line with the capacity increase of 6.3%. Intrascandinavian traffic increased by 10.5% and capacity increased by 13.5%. Danish domestic traffic was down 8.2%. Norwegian and Swedish domestic traffic increased by a strong19.3% and 14.9% respectively combined with improvements in load factors.

Widerøe and Blue1’s traffic development
Widerøe carried 231,000 passengers in May, up 38%. The growth was strongest on Norwegian domestic routes, also as Widerøe has taken over Scandinavian Airlines Fokker 50 routes in western Norway. The total capacity was increased with 33.9% compared to last year leaving the passenger load factor almost in line with last year at 60.3%.

Blue1’s traffic increased by 6.5% during May and number of passengers was up by 25.8. The growth was strongest on Finnish domestic and European routes due to new premium product, destinations and frequencies. The total load factor decreased 3.6 p.u. to 65.9%.
