Aeroflot bestiller 50 Irkut MS-21?

Iflølge Wikipedia har Aeroflot Russian Airlines 50 fly av den russiske flytypen Irkut MS-21. Om det er av typen -200, -300 eller -400 står det ikke noe om.

Jeg har ikke sett noe snakk om denne flytypen på forumet her. Stemmer dette virkelig?

Synes faktisk disse så ganske så bra ut, virker som de er inspirert av Airbus og Embraer(eller omvent?) siden cockpit er såpass ryddig. Kabin så jo også ganske fin ut da, så er dette noe som kanskje blir en hit i den vestlige verden med tiden?

In July 2007 the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) executive committee designated the Irkut Corporation as the head contractor in the MC-21 program to be implemented jointly with the Russia`s leading design bureaus.

The results of the first stage (Gate 1) were considered and approved by the special UAC commission headed by the UAC’s president Alexey Fedorov on the 14th of August 2007. The decision was taken to carry on with the project.

The ÌC-21 is being developed as a family of short-medium range airliners with the passenger carrying capacity of 150-210. The MC-21 family is to take the place of the Tu-154 and second-hand foreign aircraft in the Russian airlines’ fleets while successfully competing in international market.

The airliner is due to hit the market in 2015-16.
