American, Delta eye letting passengers tag baggage

Some major airlines are considering letting passengers tag their own checked bags at the airport before boarding their flights. American Airlines, Delta and Air Canada are in talks with the TSA to try out the approach at select airports. It's not uncommon for travellers in airports outside of the US to print out the tags without agent supervision and place them on their checked luggage. But if the airlines proceed with a test run, it would be the first time it's done in the US by someone other than a ticket agent.
