(my usual apology for posting in English...replies in Danish or Norwegian are fine..I read those languages, just not spell in them)

When did SAS end service to Montreal?
What equipment was flown at the end?

It is so sad to see how many inter-continental destinations are no longer served.
LAX was the heart breaker for me; I have many memories of the LAX service. Hard to believe that it has been 15 years.

En gang tidlig på 80-tallet. Mener at de fløy en DC10 som i noen tilfeller fortsatte til Chicago.

Montreal was cancelled from 19 July 1980 due to poor revenue and less favourable connections to other destinations after the forced move from Dorval to Mirabel airport.

Last flights were SK941 CPH-YMX-ORD 18 July 1980 and SK942 ORD-YMX-CPH 19 July 1980.

The intention was to restart services to Montreal as soon as economically possible but this never happened.

Equipment used was a variety of DC-8, DC-10 and 747. The routing was Copenhagen-Montreal-Chicago, when Montreal was cancelled Chicago was served nonstop which it still is to this day. For a few years in the 90's, SAS and Austrian operated a pool service Vienna-Copenhagen-Chicago with A310 though.
