airBaltic opens direct flights to Zurich
Riga, 24.08.2006
On 29 October this year, Latvian airline airBaltic will begin direct flights to the Swiss city of Zurich. This will be airBaltic’s 34th direct flight from Riga and the tenth new route opened this year.
“airBaltic is the fastest-growing airline in Central Europe. We will continue to react quickly and offer new flights based on our clients’ seasonal interests. Our strategy is to react quickly, effectively and with the best price to our clients’ needs, depending on the season. Zurich is famous for the nearby ski resorts, and this route is opened with that in mind,” airBaltic president Bertolt Flick said.
To begin with airBaltic will operate direct flights from Riga to Zurich with a Boeing 737-500 aircraft three times per week, on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight time will be 2 hours 20 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at LVL 29.00 (EUR 41.25) including airport taxes.
