Spanair has accused Spanish airline, Iberia, of monopolising the handling services in 26 Spanish airports and of being the first operator of these services in the remaining 16 airports. Spanair also believes that the handling licences awarded to Iberia have already expired.
In the first six months of 2004, revenues of Iberia from its handling operations increased by 13.7% on the same period the previous year to EUR 137.5mn (US$ 166.07mn) and accounted for 6.2% of its total revenues.
