Air Canada revives Toronto-Rome route

Air Canada is to reintroduce daily non-stop flights between Toronto and Rome from April 4. Since it withdrew from the route last year it has been offering customers seats on flights by Lufthansa via Frankfurt or Munich. Ben Smith, planning VP, says the airline is able to resume the service because 'Successful restructuring has resulted in substantially lower operating costs.' Meanwhile, the carrier has extended its internet check-in facility, which enables customers to print boarding passes in their office or at home, across its entire domestic network.
